The Alchemist (PDF)

Featured at the 2019 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. The Alchemist is Provost's homage to the great steel pan pioneer, Ellie Mannette.  The piece begins with a beautiful hymn choral that segues into a floating melody and contemporary harmonies backed by a light 6/8 groove feel and random"tuning" pan sounds.  The piece weaves and grows through beautifully crafted canonic material before culminating in a final hymn choral.
